Why an apprentice?

I live in London. I love seeds. I love plants. And I love gardening. Especially growing food. I’ve always grown my own  when I could, in plots, in pots, wherever. But farming…farming holds this allure for me. Farming’s a step further than I’ve ever gone. A step I’ve been feeling the urge to take – if only to bash out some silly romantic notions. Or perhaps to make them stronger…

Being an apprentice at Growing Communities, an urban farm of sorts, was one way to find out. At the end of my first growing season, what do you know! the urge was still there! So I took on the role of assistant grower and my growing journey continues.

In my head I’m still a growing apprentice…I’m finding there’s a never ending, always exciting, amount to learn.
